Same problem with a $10 non-membership to maybe someday be a member again without initiation fee. Paid for 4 years and they won't let me quit.

My husband went in to cancel and they were rude and nasty and still wouldn't cancel.

Horrible company with it's not consumer-friendly quitting policies. Now they are adding on $10 late fee to the $10 monthly fee they won't let me quit.

Lifetime Fitness in Virginia - DISHONEST

When I took my daughter, a college student just home for summer, to Lifetime for a membership, I did tell Max (a person who established new account for my daughter) that she only uses until end of August. Right there, he could of said that you need to give us a 30-day notice for cancellation. Instead, he said that is ok, just give us a week or so before the month ended. My daughter came to the fitness center in mid August to cancel the membership, then she was told that you still need to pay until mid Sept. I called to complain, but all they could say is that "we are sorry but nothing we can do because you did not give us 30 day notice". A good business is when you have strong relationship with your clients. If you try to ripoff, you can only do it once and lose them for good.

I had the same issue in Minnesota. When I told the poor *** at the front desk that I felt this was poor customer service and I wanted to talk with someone about changing this policy, I was told that this policy was changed earlier this year because they had so many complaints --- but, because my contract was from Jan.

2013 (yes...I'm a long-standing customer) the new policy does not apply to me as I am bound by the old policy in my contract.

I do see in the contract that I agreed to back in January, 2013 that this is buried in the contract, so he is correct there.

But, REALLY? Come on, Lifetime Customer Service, consider how you are treating your long-term customers.

Lifetime Fitness in Prairieville, Louisiana - Review

Harassment by ladies locker room attendant, to the point I don't want to be there when she is there. After speaking with her supervised when I couldn't take it anymore ; I was told she was going to move up into a supervisor position and they never had complaints before ,was his response. I told him that was not true as others have complaint as well as another employee stated many employees had difficulties with her! After an hour and getting so frustrated with him I started crying , I left.

Lifetime Fitness - Charged for month and a half of dues even though they were told to cancel membership

This is an outright theft. I initially signed up with my son and at the signup I told them my Son and I will not be able to continue past the end of July. I had specifically requested and the manager was present at the time of signup. They told me they would take care of it and put in a request. They didn't put in the request to cancel as I had initially requested with the manager present. When I noticed a charge on my CC stmt they indicated that I had to come in to sign the cancellation. They made me wait 1 hour to get the sales rep that signed me up and even then they tried to keep selling me other options. Manager's point was they have no control over any refunds or cancellation. I will be suing them in Small Claims Court to recover my fee as the manager and sales rep both were present along with my Son when I made the request. The matter of the principle is that they were told in advance with specific instructions and they still didn't do what they had promised they were going to do. This is THEFT!!!! VERY POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE AND DEFINITELY LEAVES A VERY BITTER TASTE ON THE WHOLE EXPERIENCE!!!!!!

Lifetime Fitness - Membership Review

I was the victim of hate speech/ harassment by an employee. I asked to cancel my membership and left. I had been a member foand about 5 years with no problems. I moved away and continued with my life. About a year later I returned to the area. I was Told by a friend that the staff had changed considerably so I decided to give LTF another shot. So I went and joined again. A bout a week into this new membership il was astopped the front check-in and told to wait and that I Couldn't go in. A few moments later a manager arrived and explained that when I had cancelled my membership, they marked my account as "permanently deactivated". So essentially I was banned from rejoining lifetime because I had deactivated my membership. They also seemed too happy to take my money and signup fees (I'm not sure I was even refunded.)
