I came to USA on business trip of 2 months. I told the member service team to charge me for 2 months. No contract was emailed to me and when I asked them if things are closed, I was told that you need to give one month notice. So they charged me $70 for a complete...

WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE! We were overcharged for items and billed for months when our account was supposed to be on hold. Provided Dr note for surgery for account hold and a email, yet the letter was conveniently misplaced and since the employee who took it has left...

I joined Lifetime 2 years ago shortly after they opened. I have loved the club and chose to disregard some of the short comings mentioned in these other reviews. I joined after communicating with a Lifetime "web specialist" named Jamie G. I have an email thread from...

Quoting Review

Hint to those peoe who are still getting charged after quoting. Call the credit card company and tell them you have lost the card and want a new one with a different number. That will prevent the auto draft from continuing.

Lifetime Fitness in Mamaroneck, New York - This place is a scam!!!!

From the moment you step in here these people are after your money. They make promises to you and then go and charge, charge, charge your credit card. As of today, I still have a subscription to a magazine I never subscribed to and when I called up about it, they claimed they never received my notification to cancel so I am still being charged. When you want to cancel your membership, they even get you for an extra month! This place is overcrowded, full of screaming kids, and the classes suck. This place completely oversells itself. I can't wait for them to go out of business. It won't be soon enough.

I agree that this place is a scam. They sell membership under false pretenses - it is all lies.

The conned us into a membership for our 12 year old son by telling us that he would be locked in at this really cheap rate for life. Six months later, they raised the fee by $10 a month, and their response is oh it is corporate's fault. We didn't know about it. REALLY?

You sold us the membership as a rate for life and you didn't know that the corporate office could change the rate? What a bunch of BS is that?

Unsupervised Children and Cleanliness is my biggest issue. Been speaking to the GM for the third year now. Very frustrating.

Lifetime Fitness in Norfolk, Virginia - Stole my money

After I canc. the auto withdraw for my private training sessions, they continued to take the money out of my account. When I figure that out, two months later, they convinced me to use them up over the next year. Shortly thereafter I moved to a state with no Lifetime Fitness. They refuse to give me my money back even though I have staff texts saying it was their fault. Manager finally said he would give me have the money they stole from me back. I have contacted a lawyer. Although it might take more money to fight them than it is worth, they are crooks and should not be able to get away with it.

Lifetime Fitness in Austin, Texas - Horrible Customer Service

I would look long and hard at the fine print around any guest passes, additional family members, group plans, and how they function. Not only was I not allowed to even try the gym for the "free week" they supposedly advertise, even though I AM A FULL TIME AUSTIN RESIDENT, I was not allowed to create a family plan with a live-in girlfriend. Surprising that it is more stringent to join this gym than to register to vote, buy and operate a firearm, buy alcohol, rent a car, rent pretty much any living space, not to mention join another gym in the area. If you don't ever plan on having guests, or having the same guest ever join you on another trip to this gym, then this might be the place for you. If you are looking for flexibility, actual customer service, and being respected and understood as a potential or current customer, I would highly suggest you look at other gyms in this area. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!

Lifetime Fitness does not care about their members. They only care about profit, and sorely lack in customer service. I paid for personal swim lessons for over a year to learn swim techniques in order to build stamina/endurance. There were a few quality instructors,...
