Lifetime Fitness - Charged for Months I am Not Using!

I called LifeTime Fitness to cancel my membership. I had used it sporadically throughout the year, but it was becoming too costly to maintain. I call, and the gentleman I spoke with informed me that I had to cancel either in person or by letter. Okay, that's fine. But what shocked me was that I would be charged for both the month of December and January! What a load of ***! LifeTime seriously needs to reevaluate their refund practices, as this does not leave a good taste in my mouth as far as the company goes. I had been planning on going back once funds opened back up, but no more. It'll be a cold day in *** before I go back now.

Lifetime Fitness in Chicago, Illinois - Guest hours

Showed up at 6:00AM to work out and front desk refused guests since all their sales guys show up st 8:00AM. No clear announcements on guest access hours online or in facility. The front desk acted like the TSA at the airport- rude, distant and condescending. Terrible customer service! This happened on Thanksgiving day 2013! Happy Thanksgiving Lifetime! My guests all had to pack up and come back again at 8:00AM! By that time, how really wants to work out at such an unwelcoming facility! It would have been great if there was a clear announcement of guest hours on holidays since out of towers are not familiar with hours at/policy's at other locations. I know at my lifetime, they wod have been more gracious! I guess that is why Johns Creek is all Bronze!

Lifetime Fitness blows huge time. My wife and I have been members since 2003. Initially the place was professional, clean and pleasant to visit. The last 5 years it has become a literal barn excelling only in ripping members off. For being a long time loyal customer...

I am with you especially after I tried to cancel my membership in the middle of a billing cycle. Their response was it has to be before a full month in order to cancel it.

Additionally, they said "read your contract." I cannot recall such rude and arrogance attitudes from any other service business. LT just doesn't care about customer service.

Something is seriously up with the Lifetime Club when camp sitters continue to put kids into a group and then watch them undress and change in TODAY's world. Private undressing should be a requirement. Also, no club should be allowing our kids to be undressing in a...

The same thing has happened to me but I have got the opposite response from corporate. I have been lauged at, bullied, and been told that a manager would not be interested in talking to me.

Shame on me for losing my paperwork.

I wish nothing but failure for such an inept company. Never join this gym!!!

I've been an isolated target of discrimination at the Mississauga location. My membership dismissed using accusations of personal training and money exchange. The club should provide all the concrete evidence/witness of these claims. All clubs have corporate rules...

Thank you for your e-mail. I’m sorry that you have had a poor experience. We are not able to process a cancellation over e-mail. We have two ways to cancel: In person at any Life Time, or by way of a Post Office Certified letter. The balance of $390.75 is still...

As a person who has worked as an email response customer service representative for a retailer, lifetime wasn't refusing to cancel this person's membership, they were simply advising the person that a membership can't be cancelled via email. They gave this person options on how to cancel their membership.

In many cases, email responders don't have the capability to perform certain functions, based on how a business is set up. Many businesses that have memberships require cancellation to be done in person and it's always included in the terms of service you signed when you become a member.
